Most might be wondering what a post about the band sixx am has to do with tracing bohemian roots, well really nothing I just thought the page needed an update and I have no news on the genealogy front, but there is a new album from this band(sixx am) hiting stores soon so until then enjoy the picture of the band…

After a somewhat long hiatus, one which was not expected I am back to tracing my Bohemian Roots. I am the first to admit trying to find Bohemians that were travellers or Gypsies is a very difficult if not impossible task, but for some reason I am keep getting visits from deceased family members and they are all telling me in not so many words that uncovering the truth about our Bohemian Roots as to be done. With that being said I am in full on research mode about anything that has to do with and of the main surnames hoping to find an answer to where to look in the Czech Republic.

Zabka or Bothern?

One of these names is the name of my grandfather….

The Story I was always told has lead me to believe Zabka

But Recent Events and News as left we wondering that it could be Bothern

I just got off the phone with one of my relatives concerning my grandmother and my grandfather….

was told a story….having nothing to do with what I was talking about….let alone asking them

So I pose the question why try and lead me off track?

My Nerves are getting the better of me today. This week I am going to send a letter to my grandfather’s wife. Who may or may not know of who my mother was. What do I say, I don’t want to scare her into shock? So saying my nerves are getting the better of me today is an understatement

Recently I have discovered that the information, concerning my Great Grandmother Anna’s Passenger Record, Name of the Ship, Her fathers name, and other vital information was the wrong Anna. Back to square one.
